Daily Practices

An Engaging and Balanced Environment

At Marine Drive Childcare, our primary goal is to provide a warm, caring, and stimulating environment that promotes children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. To achieve this, our teachers are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing lessons based on developmentally appropriate practices and learning standards. Our teachers play a crucial role in always ensuring the safety and well-being of children. Being alert to their individual and group needs is key in helping them grow.  Teachers maintain a neat, organized, and aesthetically appealing classroom, involving children in housekeeping tasks to promote responsibility and independence. Additionally, teachers assess children’s progress, routines, and interests, keeping parents informed of their child’s development.

Our daily practices are designed to create an engaging and balanced environment. This includes conducting circle-time activities, taking children outside for scheduled playtime (weather permitting), and assisting with potty training and personal care routines. We also prioritize consistency, maintaining daily routines for arrivals, departures, meals, rest times, and personal care, as well as smooth transitions between activities. Our teaching team works collaboratively to create daily schedules that are posted inside the classroom of each room. Teachers plan activities that meet each child’s developmental abilities and needs. The Lead Teacher and Full-Time Assistant Teacher work together to establish a daily routine, and all staff members are responsible for carrying out the schedule and activities. By working together, we promote a positive and supportive classroom environment that fosters children’s overall well-being and development

Each classroom develops its own detailed schedule tailored to the age and needs of the children. Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers collaborate to create these routines, and all staff members work together to carry them out, promoting a positive and supportive classroom environment.
