Brieana Smith
Co-Founder of Wondersmith
Marine Drive Childcare is managed by Wondersmith, LLC., a firm devoted to developing quality educational spaces and curricula that promote the child as a whole person and build families and communities. As COO of Wondersmith, I bring over 20 years of experience in childcare and education, along with the invaluable perspective of raising seven children of my own. My professional background includes leadership roles in a variety of educational settings: I’ve worked as a childcare director, early childhood education director, and children’s pastor. I also operated a successful home daycare for four years and spent a decade teaching at the elementary level as a substitute at a private Christian school and two homeschool cooperatives.
For the past eight years, I have worked as an educational consultant, helping to launch and develop innovative learning environments. My projects include the successful founding of Great Oaks Academy, a charter school in Farmington, MN; Alden Hills Academy, a homeschool cooperative in Eagan, MN; and Generations Preschool in New Port Richey, FL. My passion is creating nurturing, high-quality learning spaces where children thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

Annieka Longacre
Director
As a dedicated Childcare Director with over 18 years of experience in early childhood education, I bring a deep commitment to supporting young children, families, and educators. My journey began in high school as a teacher’s assistant, and I have since grown through hands-on teaching, administrative leadership, and ultimately into center management. I’ve taught preschool for 8 years, worked in administration for 5 years, and have served as a director for the past 3 years.
I hold an Associate’s and a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Leadership and Administration with 12 credits of my 33 needed. I am also a certified Childcare Director, passionate about delivering high-quality early learning experiences and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for every child in our care.
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that early childhood is the most critical period of development. High-quality childcare lays the foundation for lifelong learning, emotional resilience, and social success. I believe children thrive in environments where they feel loved, supported, and challenged in developmentally appropriate ways. As educators, we have a responsibility to nurture the whole child socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically through intentional teaching and meaningful play.
What I love most about childcare is the opportunity to make a real difference during these formative years. It is incredibly rewarding to witness a child’s growth and confidence flourish, knowing that the care and learning experiences we provide help shape their future. I especially enjoy developing curriculum that sparks curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning in young children.
As a mother of three amazing daughters, I understand the importance of building strong partnerships with families and creating a welcoming, inclusive community. I lead with compassion, professionalism, and a vision for excellence because I believe every child deserves the very best start in life.
